CFA couplings, models CH160 and CH175, are specifications of hexagonal quick connectors . They are core connecting components for drilling tools in the CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) construction method, used for torque transmission and fast assembly/disassembly between drill pipe sections, as well as between the drill pipe and the rig's rotary head.
The number following "CH" stands for the nominal across-flats dimension of the hexagon (in mm). Specifically, CH160 has a hexagonal across-flats width of 160 mm, and CH175 has a width of 175 mm.
